Felix is a one-year-old cat who disappeared from home for more than two days. When he finally returned, he was badly injured: a fractured femur on his right leg and a tibial fracture on the left, most likely caused by a car accident. Surgery was performed on the right leg, while the left, though affected, was stable enough not to require further operations.
After surgery, Felix’s recovery was not easy. Swelling, traumatized tissues, and pain made it hard for him to allow being touched, especially on his operated leg. To ease his discomfort, his veterinarian began with laser therapy for post-surgical edema. Just three days later, once Felix was calmer and more cooperative, the rehabilitation journey continued with radiofrequency therapy.
From that point, radiofrequency sessions were carried out on both legs, right at the fracture sites. In the first days after surgery, Felix struggled with proprioceptive deficits—his paw bent backward, and he had difficulty bending and extending his knee. Standing up was nearly impossible, and he relied more on his non-operated leg.
His veterinarian designed a treatment plan of ten sessions. But after just four, the improvements were already visible: proprioception was coming back, the swelling had eased, and movement in the knee was returning. By the end of the cycle, Felix was once again walking with confidence.
Thanks to radiofrequency therapy—and the expertise and dedication of his veterinarian — Felix regained the use of his legs and returned exploring the world, step by step.
