Dr. Isabella Polverini, a specialist in Companion Animal Pathology and Clinical Medicine, has been a pillar of the Top Quality Vet journey from the very beginning. As the first tutor to fully embrace the TQV project, she has dedicated herself wholeheartedly to advancing the Vet-Therapy line, refining protocols, and optimizing treatment outcomes.
A distinguished tutor and expert, Dr. Polverini combines her deep clinical knowledge with hands-on experience, becoming a trusted point of reference for veterinarians worldwide. Her guidance and expertise continue to set the standard for innovation and excellence in veterinary care.
Among the many patients treated by Dr. Polverini is Neve, a two-year-old cat who had experienced ongoing health issues, most likely linked to immune deficiencies. At three months of age, she developed an adverse reaction after receiving the second dose of a trivalent RCP vaccine. Later, she suffered from a severe and persistent inflammatory gastrointestinal condition, which was resolved only after months of dietary therapy, prebiotics and probiotics for intestinal health, and immune stimulants.
Neve continues relapsing two to three times a year, with symptoms including vomit, diarrhea, and loss of appetite. Following these episodes, she also developed sudden, widespread itching, which led to self-inflicted skin lesions.
Neve caused herself a serious facial erosion at the base of her right ear. After conducting diagnostic tests and ruling out comorbidities, Dr. Polverini prescribed supplements containing omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, prebiotics, and probiotics to help restore balance to the skin–gut microbiome. She then treated the lesion with laser therapy using the Vet Therapy El Laser, applying the 635 nm wavelength transducer at high frequencies.
Specifically, she employed the laser shift mode with frequencies ranging from 100–1000 and 1000–3000. After six sessions, spaced 48–72 hours apart depending on the owner’s availability, the lesion healed with initial hair regrowth. Neve continues her course of supplements and immune stimulants, as well as her hypoallergenic diet for chronic gastrointestinal disease, but laser therapy allowed the specialist to treat the wound quickly and without stress for the cat.
The rapid evolution of veterinary medicine over the past decade — driven by new technologies that transformed diagnostic and therapeutic approaches — has created a new model of veterinary specialist. To meet this need, Top Quality Vet has elevated the Vet Therapy Line by introducing cutting-edge laser technology to better support animal health.
Laser therapy enables the treatment of conditions once managed only with surgery. Unlike traditional surgical procedures, the laser beam delicately removes tissue, making it a favorable option for many issues affecting companion animals. With TQV Veterinary Laser, specialists can tailor rehabilitation plans to restore mobility, strengthen muscles and joints, and help animals heal faster.
Let’s shape the future of veterinary care together!
